AFTRA releases their own Press Release!

AFTRA, the union that represents daytime actors, has released a statement regarding Prospect Park's decision to suspend production of the soaps.

"AFTRA was deeply disappointed to read that the executives at Prospect Park have decided to suspend their efforts to produce the long-running and popular daytime serials, 'One Life to Live' and 'All My Children,' via online distribution. Despite initial progress in our negotiations with Prospect Park toward resolving a fair agreement to cover the performers appearing on these programs, we were perplexed and disappointed that for the past month Prospect Park has not responded to our repeated inquiries to resume those discussions. We now conclude from the press reports that Prospect Park faced other challenges unrelated to our negotiations, which prevented continuation of those discussions. We remain hopeful that an opportunity to revive these two popular series will emerge in the future, and remain ready to resume discussions should that opportunity arise."

Prospect Park Suspends AMC & OLTL!

Prospect Park has released a statement saying the efforts to create online versions of 'All My Children' & OLTL were being suspended, The full press release follows...

"After five months of negotiations with various guilds, hundreds of presentations to potential financial and technology partners, and a hope that we could pioneer a new network for the future, it is with great disappointment that we are suspending our aspirations to revive “One Life to Live” and “All My Children” via online distribution. It is now becoming clear that mounting issues make our ability to meet our deadlines to get OLTL on the air in a reasonable time period following its January 13, 2012 ABC finale impossible.

We believed the timing was right to launch an Online TV Network anchored by these two iconic soap operas, but we always knew it would be an uphill battle to create something historical, and unfortunately we couldn’t ultimately secure the backing and clear all the hurdles in time. We believe we exhausted all reasonable options apparent to us, but despite enormous personal, as well as financial cost to ourselves, we failed to find a solution.

While we narrowed in on a financial infrastructure, the contractual demands of the guilds, which regulate our industry, coupled with the program’s inherent economic challenges ultimately led to this final decision. In the end, the constraints of the current marketplace, including the evolution and impact of new media on our industry simply proved too great a match for even our passion.

In our opinion, new models like this can only work with the cooperation of many people striving to make them happen, and we would like to thank and praise the numerous people who tried to help and showed us incredible support. We are extremely grateful to the fans and media who showed great support to us through this process, to ABC who did everything in their control to help, and we are especially grateful for the support and encouragement from many of the Soaps’ cast and crew themselves.

We hope that our efforts are not lost, and that we somehow created a dialogue and movement on the feasibility of first run, network quality content online.

Of special note, we would like to thank Frank Valentini (Executive Producer), Ron Carlivati (Head Writer of OLTL), Agnes Nixon, many of the cast of OLTL including Michael Easton, Ted King, Kelley Missal, Melissa Archer, and of course Erika Slezak all of whom signed on quickly and did all they could to help, as well as our own Christine Sacani. Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley also get our sincerest thanks for their support. We feel terrible we couldn't come through for them and we were very much looking forward to working together."

Movie Trailer Tuesday! 'Super 8'

Every Tuesday we will post a movie out on DVD or coming to Theaters, DVD or Blu-ray in where an 'All My Children' Star past or present will appear. Each week we'll touch base on a new film, So check out this weeks Movie Trailer Tuesday...

Emerson Brooks (AMC's Ex- Ben) plays a Military Bus Driver in the Mystery/ Sci-Fi Thriller 'Super 8' filmed near my home town in West Virginia. Written and directed by J.J. Abrams the film is set in the summer of 1979, where a group of young friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy Jackson Lamb (played by Kyle Chandler) tries to uncover the truth something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined. Also in the film Elle Fanning (as Alice Dainard), Joel Courtney (as Joe Lamb) and Ron Eldard (as Louis Dainard).

'Super 8' was released on DVD today November 22nd 2011. Check out the trailer HERE, this may be a film you wanna see. Check back next Tuesday for an all new film.

Susan Lucci (AMC's Erica Kane) may be in Charleston, SC right now filming her scenes for 'Army Wives' but she reveled at her most recent book signing at the Old Westbury Gardens Mansion in New York on Tuesday, November 8th...

“I am going to be joining the cast of Army Wives. I am playing the wife of a two star general who is also the daughter of a general. I will only be there for a few weeks. I will also be going back to LA to do some work on the show Hot in Cleveland, the Betty White show. They have asked me to come back.”

Going into the semifinals of 'Dancing With the Stars' last Monday viewers weren't very surprised to see top dog J.R. Martinez (AMC's Brot) get the scores to move forward. But once it came to who was on the chopping block right before the finals, surprisingly, Rob Kardashian was pulling better scores and then Ricki Lake reminded us why she was still in the competition, as she topped the scoreboard.

So its anyone's game right?

Carrie Genzel in 'A Dog Named Christmas' TONIGHT!

Tune in to The Hallmark Channel this evening to see Carrie Genzel (AMC's Ex- Skye)in 'A Dog Named Christmas'.

The holiday themed comedy / drama is the story of when Todd (played by Noel Fisher), a developmentally-challenged 20 year-old with an affinity for animals, hears that the animal shelter is looking for families to foster a dog for Christmas, he’s eager to sign up. But Todd's father George (Bruce Greenwood) says “no adoptions” – even temporary ones – claiming he wants to protect Todd from disappointment. Mary Ann (Linda Emond), Todd's mother, knows better. Something else is troubling George – something he doesn’t want to face.

With Mary Ann’s support, Todd’s persistence pays off. He chooses a friendly yellow lab and names him “Christmas.” Bringing Christmas home proves to be a life-changing event for the whole family, allowing Todd to show that he can care for the dog on his own, and inspiring George to love a new member of the family. Carrie plays Brianna Lewis.

'DAYS' Bren Foster and 'OLTL' David A. Gregory both scored six nominations to lead the 13th Annual Soaphunks Award nominations, announced Wednesday at Soaphunks.net.

Both Foster and Gregory placed in the top category Best Hunk along with B&B's Adam Gregory, OLTL's Josh Kelly, and AMC's Jordi Vilasuso (Griffin).

A Tribute to Pine Valley: Celebrating 41 years of 'All My Children' was a big hit in New Jersey and New York last month and now fans in the Midwest can get up close and personal with their fave AMC stars.

Laurence Lau shooting New TV Pilot 'Upstate'

Syracuse, New York residents glimpsed something strange Thursday. The front door to Swallows Restaurant, a local fixture for more than 80 years, had disappeared behind by a mysterious tarpaulin. The bar that would normally host a crew of beer-drinking regulars, says owner Patrick Cregg.

Laurence Lau (AMC's Ex- Greg Nelson) is filming the pilot episode for 'Upstate' a television sitcom that will be based on the vagaries of life in a place called Syracuse. The show is being shot this week in various locations around the city.

Lau will play John Michael, writer/director Tom Seeley said he hoped to finish filming this week, then immediately start the editing process. The pilot could be shopped to TV network executives early next year.

Bobbie Eakes in 'A Christmas Wedding Tail' TONIGHT!

Sorry for the late announcement y'all, But be sure to tune in to The Hallmark Channel this evening to see Bobbie Eakes (AMC's Krystal Carey) in 'A Christmas Wedding Tail'.

The holiday themed romantic comedy is the story of a pair of passionate pooches, Labrador Rusty (voice by Jay Mohr) and Poodle Cheri (voice by Nikki Cox), who fall head-over-tails in love. The two smitten pups conspire to get their respective owners, Susan (Jennie Garth) and Jake (Brad Rowe) to wed. Despite Susan’s and Jake’s compatibility, their new blended family turns out to be more than Rusty and Cheri had bargained for. Now, the calculating canines must channel their pooch powers to keep their family from ending up in the dog house. Bobbie playes Hillary, a wedding planner.

Irizarry "Not The Reason" For PP Postponement

When a fan brought to Vincent Irizarry’s (AMC's David Hayward) attention that his failure to come to terms with Prospect Park was in part to blame for PP's decision to postpone AMC's online reboot, the actor took to Facebook to declare it "absolute rubbish".


Irizarry goes on to say... "We [Irizarry and AMC Head Writer Lorraine Broderick] are certainly not the reason PP has put the show on hold."

Thorsten Kaye will be a 'Smash' in NBC's new series!

Good news Kaye Fans! Thorsten Kaye (AMC's Zach Slater) has been cast in NBC's upcoming new comedy / drama series 'Smash'.

In a recurring role Kaye will play Angelica Huston's character Eileen Rand's love interest, 'Smash' is set to premiere Monday February 6th 2012 at 10pm EST on NBC and look for Thorsten to show up by the 7th episode.

"Just a note: as far as I know, PP did not contact ANY actors until AFTER the show wrapped. Why? I do not know. Who they asked and in what order was a surprise to some, but not to all. I think this is such a new venture for them that we have to be somewhat forgiving about how they do things and their lack of understanding of what many of us know to be "what makes a soap work." At least they tr...ied... and are still trying. It's got to be a HUGE learning curve and of course they are going to want to put their own stamp on it.

But lets have a moment of reprieve from all this and think of something fun! What would you do if YOU were going to start AMC on the internet??

If I was to make over AMC, I would start with Adam and Brooke. I loved that couple! I would bring back Natalie and Janet as good/evil twins, and the cop Trevor Dillan, was well as his niece Haley! Even if they had to re-cast some of the parts (Kelly is just a tiny bit busy these days) it would be fun to see what her crazy character got up to now, as a mom and wife!

I would bring back Uncle Palmer, or at least a brother of his- another elder Palmer adult who could be both good and bad and battle Adam Chandler. I loved those patriarchs! And of course some of his children and his wife, Opal!

If Susan Lucci wants to come and visit for short periods, that would be awesome, but we can still enjoy her fantastic daughters Kendall and Bianca and their lives and lovers...uh.. Zach, anyone?

I know I am leaving out tons of fab players... Doctor David! Jackson Montgomery! Tad (well of course, duh!) Jesse and Angie! Oh the list goes on and the possibilities are endless.

Seyfried in Negotiations to Play Linda Lovelace in Biopic

The Hollywood Reporter.com is reporting that Amanda Seyfried (AMC's Ex- Joni) is in talks to join 'Lovelace', the biopic about Linda Lovelace, the 1970s-era porn star best known for her performance in Deep Throat.


The script is based on The Complete Linda Lovelace, a biography by Eric Danville that was published in 2001, one year before Lovelace died. Several actors have circled the high-profile project. At one point, James Franco and Kate Hudson were attached to play the duo.

Will we get ON or OFF the Prospect Park Rollercoaster?

Hope is quickly fading for the Online launch of our beloved All My Children! Here in a series of articles released by anyone but Prospect Park is a complete breakdown of what is going on from other investigative minds. Prospect Park really needs to release their own press release with a yah or a nah! Clear up all the rumors with soap fans before it back fires on them!

Report by CNN iReport It has been almost four months since the July 7th, 2011 announcement by Disney/ABC that the iconic 40+ year soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live had been exclusively licensed to a little known production company, Prospect Park. This announcement came after the April 14th, 2011 Disney/ABC announcement cancelling the long-running shows.

On August 30, 2011, the All My Children cast and crew filmed their final scenes. On September 23, 2011, All My Children aired on Disney/ABC for the last time. While Disney/ABC heavily promoted its replacement show, Prospect Park remained silent. On November 18, 2011, One Life to Live will film its last scenes with a final air date in mid-January 2012.

Through it all, the only information Prospect Park has released directly to the public is that Union/Guild negotiations were taking longer than expected, air dates could be affected, and a new Chief Technology Officer was hired. Then The Online Network (TOLN) was announced. Prospect Park deemed TOLN as future home of All My Children and One Life to Live when they are produced online. The TOLN internet site is a static (non-changing) page with entry fields for a name and either email address or cell phone number to receive updates on the network. The only problem is there are no updates, just the same static page, all the time collecting information.

Usually when inaccuracies are spread, there are statements made to set the record straight. Prospect Park has chosen a different approach, one aligned with the Disney/ABC policy of simply not responding.

Since July 7th, near daily rumors, innuendos, and speculation have surfaced regarding the shows, their casts, crews, studios, schedules, and air dates. Some soap sites keep scores like baseball rosters of who has signed, who has been approached, and who hasn’t. Tweets have become the gospel word, setting off firestorms of articles, blogs, discussions, posts, and further speculation. By the time a Tweet has been repeated in print two or three times, it has lost its providence and becomes truth.

Even Soap fan groups that blindly extolled Prospect Park as the savior of these shows and the soap genre in July are now questioning Prospect Park and its intentions with certain actors and characters. These groups for months vehemently criticized those who questioned Prospect Park. Now they are not only questioning Prospect Park but are bombarding them to voice their concerns, not over whether the shows will survive, but whether their favorite actors will be hired.

Bobbie Eakes Sparkles This Holiday Season!

An All-Star Holiday Concert will be held in Palm Springs, CA. on Wednesday, December 7th and songbird Bobbie Eakes (AMC's Krystal) is one of the celebrities who will be performing!

A benefit for the Desert AIDS Project, Sparkle! will be held at the Annenberg Theater inside the Palm Springs Art Museum as performers from the worlds of television, Broadway and the music industry gather together to sing holiday songs at this extravaganza. Some of the celebrities scheduled to join Eakes include Tony Award nominee Bobby Steggert (AMC's Ex- Sam), CSI's Ginifer King, American Idol's Von Smith and High School Musical: Get In The Picture's Jen Malenke.

General admission tickets are $48, and VIP tickets (which include premium reserved seats and the VIP after-party with hosted bar) are $125. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show scheduled to begin at 7:00pm. Click HERE for more info on the concert.

Jill Larson (AMC's Opal Courtlandt) plays a Manacled Woman and Matthew Cowles (Ex- Billy Clyde Tuggle) plays a Ferry Captain in the mystery / thriller film 'Shutter Island' the film is set in 1954, where U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding nearby. Also in the film Mark Ruffalo (as Chuck Aule) and Michelle Williams (as Dolores).

'Shutter Island' came out on DVD February 2010, Rent the film in your local video store today, But first check out the trailer HERE, this may be a film you wanna see. Check back next Tuesday for an all new film.
