Is 'All My Children' being Canceled?

Oh, woe is daytime television over at ABC. The network just can't seem to get any of its new early-bird programming to work and this might cause trouble for some old favorites.

For awhile now, the alphabet network has had several new daytime talks shows in development that they want to get on the air. Problem is, some of their other programming is eating up all their funds and they're finding it difficult to make peace with that. One of the most costly ventures of the network is their lineup of soap operas. Yes, your stories are costing ABC big bucks as they're all running completely over-budget.

Like All My Children. The House of Mouse uprooted the show's production to Los Angeles last year in an effort to cut down on costs, but the relocation has made little difference. The show's been on the air for over 40 years, but if they can't find a way to decrease the bottom line, it could be coming to an end. The same goes for One Life to Live, except that they've managed to stay under budget consistently. Problem is, they don't grab as many eyeballs as AMC, so they might be cut loose just to make room.

Vermont roots run deep for best supporting actress nominee Melissa Leo

As a toddler on New York’s Lower East Side during the early 1960s, Melissa Leo (AMC's Ex- Linda Warner) began participating in the fanciful productions of Bread & Puppet Theater, then based in Manhattan.
“I found out there were grown-ups who liked to pretend, too,” recalled the Oscar-nominated actress, now 50. “Then — oh, my God! — other grown-ups would come and sit in the dark and believe our pretend.”
Sunday night, Leo will sit in a Hollywood audience, waiting to find out if she’s been voted best supporting actress for a bravura performance in “The Fighter.” Her Golden Globe win last month may have paved the way.
“I spent the day trying on dresses,” Leo said over the phone last week, while “shlepping” suitcases via taxi to the Port Authority terminal for a bus back to her Ulster Country home, two hours from New York City. “I found one but can’t tell you what it looks like.”
What movie stars wear to the gala generally isn’t revealed until their appearance on the fabled red carpet, as cameras flash and fans scream. But the world of glitzy fashion seems many miles and decades away from Leo’s off-beat, often penniless childhood.

A self-described “hippie by birth,” she continued as an occasional puppeteer throughout the 1960s, even stilt-walking when old enough. Yet, it was a coincidence in 1970 when, at age nine, Leo moved to Putney and Bread & Puppet relocated to Plainfield. Years later, she periodically strutted her stuff at the Domestic Resurrection Circus, a now-defunct annual summer outdoor extravaganza at the troupe’s digs in Glover.

Dr. Joe & Ruth Martin Return to Pine Valley

It has been revealed that original cast member Ray MacDonnell is to make a brief return to ABC soap All My Children in March. The actor will reprise his role of Joe Martin for two episodes next month as his character returns to Pine Valley for a special Martin family event. It will be the actors first appearance in the soap for nearly two years having retired from All My Children in November 2009.

On-screen his character of Joe was written out by moving to Florida for retirement. Behind-the-scenes the actor decided to leave the soap when production was moved from New York to Los Angeles. Not all the cast members though decided to make the move across the country and MacDonnell was one of those who opted to leave.

As previously reported returning alongside MacDonnell for the two episodes will be Lee Meriwether reprising her role of Ruth Martin.

Spoilers for the week of February 28th 2011...

Ricky is desperate to get his hands on the evidence that could expose the truth about Zach's death (and his role in it) and the only person that can lead him to it is Kendall. But despite all his best efforts to get to the truth, Kendall's starting to realize there's something fishy about Zach's death. Will Ricky have to silence her?

Across town, Tad and Cara's engagement is causing major ripples. Everybody in town has an opinion on their upcoming nuptials -- Griffin, Cara's mom, Amanda and especially Jake. The idea of your brother marrying your ex isn't exactly an easy pill to swallow especially when there's all that "I didn't really want to end the marriage, I just did it to protect you" madness between Jake and Cara.

Opal, true to her style, opens her big mouth and lets it slip to Jack that Erica and Caleb kissed. Not a good thing. Erica, for her part, is really not happy about the Jack and Krystal friendship. Can these two work it out and actually get married?

Everyone's getting desperate in the search for Annie and the kidnapped Emma. So desperate, in fact, that Greenlee's willing to make a deal with the devil to find Ryan's little girl. No, Greenlee doesn't start channeling Satan. But she is calling David.

All this plus Colby learns Asher knew all about Liza and Damon's affair, Opal gets a new job, Bianca might have quite the custody battle on her hands and Scott comes to Madison's rescue.

AMC Stars attend American Idol event

Jamie Luner (AMC's Liza Colby), Chrishell Stause (Amanda Martin) and Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chandler) attended Idol Prom: The "American Idol" Season Ten Top 24 Debut event at the Roosevelt Hotel on February 24th, in Hollywood, California.

Lisa's Weekly "All My Children" Rant...

Hi all! Hope all is well with everyone. I needed a tiny break last week and I appreciate Sara covering for me. Thanks Sara and now I am back and let's get started.

This Annie business needs to end...Kidnapping her own child is so outdone. Bring Emma back ASAP! I love the character and Melissa; but I am getting bored with it already.

Marissa is pushing David and JR away; but I think that will all change. Marissa and JR are so back together; in my opinion. I feel bad for David regarding Marissa; but he has cried wolf too many times that no one can believe when he is telling the truth. However, I do believe the truth will come out and heads are going to roll!

Marissa and Ryan working together. Interesting? Not sure yet; but the concept certainly is.

The good Rev. is not so good after all and killed Zach! I happen to like this story and should be interesting to see how it unfolds. I think he will make Kendall fall in love with him before she or anyone finds out. Just a hunch. And Griffin; well, find someone else for him. But did you notice that he knew something was not right about the "good" Rev.? Then, Griffin will be in to comfort and make it all better.

Tad and Cara engaged! UGGH! Sorry, do not like this even if it is for the Feds. I think it will turn into the real thing. I used to think I liked the pairing; but am changing my mind. I don't like when brothers and sisters share their man/woman. Jake is clearly not liking this and I think there will be fighting for her. This leaves Amanda is not a good place at all. I feel so bad for her when Jake found out about her talking to immigration about Cara. Will she turn into Janet From Another Planet? Yep, I am thinking so.
Not totally crazy about that idea; but think it is inevitable and what they always do.

Jack and Krystal are getting closer. It is only a matter of time before they are even closer and that Erica and Caleb reveal their true feelings to each other and everyone else.

Liza Liza Liza. You have become your mother! But, I may be the only one that feels sorry for her. Don't agree with that whole situation; but feel sorry for her anyway.

Scott and Madison move in together. WOW! Needless to say I did not like this. Enough said.

I would love to see Skye come back and kick Liza and anyone else's butt who hurts her family!

Thank you all so much for your continued support and letting me rant and rave. These are only my opinions; we all have them. Take care, be well, and see you in Pine Valley!!

Spoilers for the week of February 21st 2011...

Uh-oh, Kendall! That seemingly nice Reverend Ricky Torres you've been hanging out with is not a Reverend, and certainly not nice. In fact, he had something to do with Zach's death. Kendall gets a message from Zack but Ricky steals part of the letter before Kendall can read it. Will Kendall be able to bust him before it's too late?

Amanda proves she's capable of causing just as much trouble as her mother when the Immigration agents she called come to Pine Valley looking for Cara. Get this -- they think Cara might be a terrorist! Anyway, the only way to keep Cara in the country is if she gets married. Enter Tad, who is willing to make Cara wife #8.

And what about Jake and Amanda? "Oops, I purposefully called the Feds on your ex" is probably not going to soothe Jake when he finds out what happened.

Across town, Ryan, Greenlee and JR are all frantically searching for Annie, who has kidnapped Emma. When they realize David helped her get out of town they confrount him, but he denies knowing anything about Emma’s disappearance. They get a tip and head to Montreal to find Annie.

Make sure to tune in on Thursday, February 24th to see a special guest appearance by Wendie Malick of Hot in Cleveland fame. She'll be going head to head with Erica Kane herself! It's all part of the AMC/Hot in Cleveland crossover.

All this plus Madison asks Greenlee for financial help, Jackson confronts Erica, and Colby finally finds out that her mom, Liza, slept with her boyfriend. And to say she completely flips out is the understatement of the year.

Leven Rambin to Guest Star on 'One Tree Hill'

Leven Rambin (AMC's Ex- Lily / Ava) keeps close to fiance Geoff Clark as they attend the Giuseppe Zanotti Design Beverly Hills Store Opening cocktail reception and dinner held at BOA Sunset on Friday February 4th.

Leven is hoping on all the good TV shows from Grey’s Anatomy to CSI: Miami to Wizards of Waverly Place and now to One Tree Hill. She’ll play a young woman Brooke (Sophia Bush) crosses paths with as she explores adoption options.

Amanda Seyfried gets pampered!

After a day of moving furniture into her home, Amanda Seyfried (AMC's Ex- Joni) headed to the Kate Somerville salon in West Hollywood, California on February 16th, for a bit of pampering. Dressed in a pair of relaxed jeans, black flats, and long sleeved navy blue shirt, she showed off her love for the New York Yankees by wearing a souvenir hat.

Rumors spread on the internet today that Amanda’s relationship with Ryan Phillipe had suddenly cooled off. Due to Ryan hitting on Rihanna. But no one really knows how serious they even were to begin with!

Lisa's (Sara's) Weekly "All My Children" Rant...

Well Lisa needed a break and Roseanne volunteered to do the rant this week, But i thought Roseanne has had so much put on her this week, Why not i take a try at ranting this week. So here we go...

Let's start with Annie, She's not loosing it, She's done lost it! What the heck was she thinking taking Emma. She didn't really think Ryan was just gonna sit back and let her have the child did she. No telling with her state of mind. And Jesse shows Ryan and Greenlee a photo of David helping Annie get out of town. Did you expect anything less? If it rains in Pine Valley its David Haywards fault didn't you know that? From what i read Melissa wont be seen much before her exit from the show in March. TPTB say at this time they have no intention of re- casting Annie. But just a suggestion, If you can't get Melissa back in the role try luring Bree Williamson (OLTL's Jessica/ Tess) to make the move from Land View to Pine Valley, she is the ONLY person i could see in the role of Annie besides Melissa. I am so gonna miss Melissa Claire Egan! Good Luck Missy in all you do... I'm gonna make a prediction right now. Melissa Claire Egan will be AMC's next Josh Duhamel, With her talent she will go Far!!

Amanda, Amanda, Amanda.. A little of Janet is showing up in her. Remember the jealousy Janet had for Natalie? Well at least Amanda didn't push Cara down a well right? So now whats gonna happen? The men in the black coats took Cara away, Just as Tad has a plan to fake her death. I have a feeling and not a good one. I feel that at some point the are gonna make Amanda the crazy chick in town, Annie's leaving so Pine Valley's gotta have one right. But I'm not liking the idea of Cara and Jake, Now Cara and Tad that's another story. I'd love to see Tad happy again and with Cara's spunk i think she is just the one to make him happy. So it looks like the prediction's about Tad and Cara getting married are in the work. She needs help and he is more then willing to do that for her.

Madison is setting her self up for a fall i think, She should have never lied and told Ryan the baby she was caring was Scott's. And Greenlee is just digging herself deeper & deeper. If she truly LOVES Ryan she would have told him immediately. This isn't gonna turn out good for her.

I'm so sad Binks and Reese are divorcing. I like the way they are writing Marissa helping Bianca threw this by signing on as her divorce attorney, I just hope it don't turn out bad for Bianca. But she will have a love interest by May. It will be a really great story, with a new actress being brought in for a role that's connected to Binks's past! Hummmm.... Could Maggie be coming back to town?

OK, I got allot to say about Pine Valley's friendly neighborhood minster. I TOLD YA!!! I knew he was a fake. Only bad thing about me being right about his character is... Is he truly a Reverend? If not you know what that means right? Greenlee and Ryan aren't married after all. But WOW! what a way to make fans hate a character AMC... Kudos's because reveling Rev. Ricky is the one that had something to do with Zach's death. You hit the nail on the head on this one, because i think EVERYONE is gonna hate the man that took away 'Always Only You' and speaking of that, I do appreciate AMC taking time to let Kendall morn Zach. At the beginning when they announced they cast Griffin as a love interested for Kendall (before Zack's body even got cold) i was disappointed because we are to believe Kendall & Zach's love was real. I mean i know Kendall has had a habit of jumping in bed with the first man that's near her when she thinks she looses Zach. But with the Emmy winning performance Alicia Minshew had after Kendall was told of Zach's demise, I seen where the show was going and am now beginning to like the possible pairing of Kendall and Griffin. As long as they take it slow. And remember Zach's body was never found! Ohh speaking of Cara and Griffin, did you hear their momma is coming to town, this should be interesting.

David's been a little to quite, that scares me! When's Angie coming back to Pine Valley? Do you think Erica and Jack will get married again or is it over? Colby and Asher... Hook up already! Ohh and where the heck are Frankie & Randi?

Well that's it this week y'all. These are only my opinions we all got em' right? Lisa will be back next week. But until then.. Thanks for letting me rant :)

THE EXPOSER's Exclusive Interview with Danielle Parker (AMC's Emma Lavery)

WE HAVE A WINNER! Please Enjoy Danielle's Interview...

Are y'all ready for this FANtastic interview with the adorable Danielle Parker (AMC's Emma Lavery)? Well first i must give big "Thank You!" to Danielle for taking time out of her very busy schedule to answer her fans burning questions. Thank you to all you fans that submitted great question to Danielle's Interview with THE Pine Valley EXPOSER! Be sure to check the end of Danielle's interview, Where she will ask you (her fans) one questions about her 'All My Children' character Emma Lavery and the first person to answer her question correctly will win this autographed photo of Danielle.

So without further delay to y'all, Check out Danielle's interview and see if your questions made the cut......

THE Pine Valley EXPOSER: How old are you now? and how old where you when you first got into acting?

Danielle Parker: I am 8 years old. I will be nine on May 5. I was 4 when I first started acting.

PVE: What was your first acting or modeling job? and did you know then it was something you wanted to do?

DP: My first job was a print for Sea World. It is still on Sea World’s website for both Orlando and San Diego. I knew I loved being in front of the camera.

PVE: Do you attend public school, private school or are you home schooled? And what is your favorite subject in school?

DP: I do attend public school. When I am on set I work my set teacher who works closely with my classroom teacher so everything runs smoothly. My favorite subject is Reading & Language Arts. I love to read! I am proud to say I am a straight A student.

PVE: Do you play sports or take any classes (ie.. ballet, acting, exc) what do you do for fun in your spare time?

DP: I have been playing soccer since I was 4. I also take acting class and work with a vocal coach. In my free time I play with my American Girl Dolls!

PVE: How did you feel being cast as All My Children's Emma Lavery & did you screen test and if so who did you screen test with? and did they help you in any way?

DP: I was so EXCITED when found out that I had booked the role of Emma. I did not screen test. I just auditioned for the casting director.

PVE: All My Children isn't the first daytime soap you have acted in, You played Sydney in Days of our Lives. Do you think acting in Days helped you land the role of Emma on AMC, and if so how?

DP: Working on Days was fun. I think it gave me the experience to book the role of Emma.

PVE: Who do you have the most fun acting with on AMC? and why?

DP: I feel so lucky to get to work with all the great actors on AMC. I have worked the most with Melissa and Cameron I love them both! I also have so much fun when I get to work with Stephanie and Daniel.

PVE: I found a photo of you and Criss Angel, where you in a show with him or did you attend a magic show of his. How do you know him?

DP: I was in a commercial with Criss Angel for his Magic Kit. He directed and starred in the commercial. He was very nice to me!

PVE: What is the funniest thing that has happened on the set of AMC?

DP: There a few funny things that have happened on set. The first time I worked in Ryan’s penthouse the door jammed when I tried to walk in the door. Everybody laughed and said it was my initiation into the cast since it has happened to them all. When we shot the Thanksgiving Play Dannika, I got the giggles and had to shake them off. Every day I work is a great time!

PVE: Do you ever get recognized on the street for your role on AMC & how do you feel when people recognize you?

DP: Every so often someone will recognize me. I Love meeting people who are fans of the show.

PVE: Are you friends with the other kids on AMC? Do y'all have play dates? (hang out together) and if so with who?

DP: I have spent time outside of the show with Tate, Mackenzie and Jake. Tate, Jake and I went to Disneyland together. I just recently got to spend some time with Mackenzie we had a blast together.

PVE: Is it hard for you to memorize your lines on AMC? Does your mom or dad help you or do you do it on your own? And where is the best place and time for you to study them?

DP: Learning my lines comes easy for me. I have been told I have a photographic memory. I highlight my lines and then go over them a few times usually over the weekend in my room at my desk.

PVE: What advice would you give another kid going into acting? or how do you think you could help another kid if they where cast on the show?

DP: My advice for a kid who wants to start acting is to find a really good acting coach and start taking an acting class. At AMC we are a family, so if there was a new kid I would do anything I could to help.

PVE: We attended Krystal's country BBQ event back in Sept. and you sang Miley Cyrus's song 'The Climb', you were amazing. Were you nervous? As i recall you got a standing ovation! So is singing something you enjoy doing and do you think you may cross over from acting to singing sooner or later?

DP: I was very nervous it was my first time singing in public. I had never sang without the music. I do work with a vocal coach. I do not have any plans to crossover into singing. I would enjoy doing some musical theater.

PVE: What was your favorite part about the 2010 AMC fan club weekend last year? and will we see you at this years events?

DP: I loved the AMC fan Event. My favorite part was getting to meet and sign autographs for so many of the fans. I plan on attending this year’s Fan Event!

PVE: Do you have any brothers and sisters or any pets? and whats are their names? tell us a little about them.

DP: I do not have any brothers or sisters. I do have a great dog named Coconut. He is a Bichon Poodle.

PVE: What is the one thing fans would be surprised to know about you? (hobbies, habits, talents, exc..)

DP: I love to do arts, crafts and pottery. I spend many hours in my free time making stuff for family, friends and co-workers.

PVE: Where do you see yourself in 20 years? Do you think you'll still be acting? If not what other career would you choose for yourself?

DP: In 20 years I hope that I am still acting. I would also like to be directing. I already wrote my first script and hope to make it into a short film this summer

PVE: Do you have an official web site or can fans find you on twitter or facebook?

DP: I do have a website it is www.danielleparker.net I also have a fan page on facebook. I would love for my fans to come by and LIKE my page.

PVE: Do you have any other projects (shows, commercials, theater, exc..) coming up fans could see you in?

DP: Due to my very busy schedule at AMC I have had very little time to work on any other projects. You can see some of my earlier works on my website and on YouTube.

Finally, I am very sad that the wonderful Melissa Claire Egan is leaving AMC. I feel very lucky that she played my Mom. She is an amazing actress and a great mentor. I know that wonderful things will happen in her future.

OK, now Danielle has answered all your questions, THE PV EXPOSER turned it over to her to ask her fans a question about her character Emma.

Here's Danielle's question to you...
"What month was it when Emma started wearing earrings?"
Ohh, That's a good question! First fan to post the correct answer in the comment section below will win a hand signed autographed photo of Danielle Parker, Good Luck!
